ARTIST BIO

Shannon Heath

Shannon Heath is a predominantly self-taught Australian contemporary artist residing in Northern NSW, Bundjalung Country.

Creativity was weaved into Heath’s world from a very young age. Initially, self-expression manifested in the form of dancing and drawing. Later in life, her high school art teacher had a profound impact on her artistic development and practice.

After graduating University with a BA in Design, Heath went on to pursue a career as designer in the fashion industry. After a decade designing in Australia and theUSA, Heath returned to less-digital methods of creating, and the inner calling to create large scale abstract paintings.

Heath’s work reflects her vast tenure as a designer, married with an innate ability to compose textural, expressive, balanced compositions. Heath’s signature style employs ethereal, neon-pastel palettes building layers in dramatic, emotive tableaux. She works with methods of layering and extraction primarily with acrylics, oils and non-traditional painting tools.

Shannon has exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions in Australia and the USA, with collectors around the world.
